They’re different but beautifully complementary. Therapy often focuses on healing the past, while coaching is more future-oriented; it’s about helping you move from where you are now to where you want to be, in alignment with your values.
Some of my clients continue with therapy alongside coaching, as the two offer different kinds of support. Coaching offers a present-moment, forward-facing space to take intentional action and create meaningful change. If you’re unsure which support you need, we can talk it through during a free Discovery Session.

A helpful way to understand the difference is through the metaphor of driving a car:
A therapist will explore what’s stopping you from driving the car.
A counsellor will listen to your anxieties about the car.
A mentor will share tips from their own experience of driving cars.
A coach (that’s me!) will sit beside you, encourage you, and support you as you start driving the car yourself.
In other words, coaching is about taking aligned action. It’s forward-focused, practical, and led by you. It’s not about giving advice or solving problems for you, it’s about helping you tap into your own clarity, confidence and direction.

My role as your coach is to walk alongside you as a committed thinking partner, not a ‘fixer’. I work with people who are ready to create change, even if they’re not sure where to begin. Together, we create a calm, focused space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface and begin moving toward what matters most to you.
I’ll ask thoughtful questions, reflect what I hear, and gently challenge you when needed, always with care and curiosity. I won’t give you the answers, but I will help you uncover your own.
We’ll work within a grounded yet flexible framework. First, we bring awareness to the thoughts, emotions, behaviours and patterns shaping your current experience. Then we clarify your values, priorities and intentions, and begin shifting habits, mindset and focus to support them. Over time, we build consistency through action, reflection and gentle accountability; helping you move forward in ways that feel aligned and sustainable.
Our sessions may include tools like journaling prompts, reframing techniques, or visualisation. At other times we’ll focus on auditing and reflection, on emotional processing, habit formation, or building supportive routines. It’s not one-size-fits-all, we shape the work around you.
Between sessions, I’ll check in and share tailored resources to help you integrate your insights into everyday life. This process is a partnership: rooted in reflection, anchored in action, and always guided by your own inner wisdom.
